Have you tried our cornflake crack yet? If not, you’re really missing out! It’s a thin and crispy sweet treat that is quick and easy to make, and satisfies even the pickiest of eaters – win, win and win!

Ingredients

Method

Step 1

Grease and line the base and sides of a19cm x 29cm rectangular slice pan, bringing paper 3cm above the long sides. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced).

Step 2

Place the cornflakes in a large bowl.

Step 3

Combine the butter, sugar and salt flakes in a medium pan, cook, stirring, over medium heat until butter is melted. Simmer, stirring, for 2 minutes or until sugar has dissolved and mixture has thickened slightly.

Step 4

Immediately pour mixture onto the cornflakes and stir to coat; spread into prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until deep golden brown. Cool in the pan then refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.

Step 5

Remove the base from the pan. Spread chocolate evenly over the surface and sprinkle with a few extra salt flakes. Refrigerate until chocolate is set.

Step 6

Using a large hot knife, cut into 8 pieces to serve.
